Lisa
I started practicing yoga at my local health club in 2000 and my growing interest led me to take a British Wheel of Yoga Foundation course in 2003. The following year, I began a British Wheel of Yoga (Teacher Training) Diploma Course, and in 2005 was asked to appear in the official British Wheel of Yoga DVD ‘A Spectrum of Yoga’. Since then I have taught a number of yoga classes in and around Bromley, taking some time out for the pregnancy / birth of my daughter in November 2006 and my son in March 2009. I now act as a mentor for current students completing their BWY Diploma courses. Since completing my diploma course, I have been lucky enough to study with some wonderful teachers from a broad range of traditions, including ashtanga vinyasa, anusara yoga, Iyengar yoga and vinyasa flow. I have also taught family yoga courses, focusing on the conscious and positive use of yoga to build physical and emotional contact between parents and babies and young children. My own yoga style has elements from many of the different traditions I have studied. In particular, I am interested in the balance between strength and flexibility, and the balance between physical poses and the inner stillness that we can find within them.
