An exploration of the Bhagavad-Gita, The Yoga Sutras and Sri Isopanishad
Starting Sunday 26th February from 4-5.30pm
An introduction to the Vedas, their purpose and relevance to the modern day Yogi. Suitable for newcomers to Yoga or anyone wanting to go deeper with the supportive philosophy behind the peaceful practice of Yoga.
Topics for study include:
- The Living Gita:How the Bhagavad Gita can guide the 21st Century Yogi
- Transcendental knowledge
- The nature of the soul
- Karma & Reincarnation
- Ahamkara - the false ego as the enemy within
- Ahimsa - the gentle path
- The Five Key Subjects of the Bhagavad Gita
- The Yoga of Devotion
- Yoga and the mind - understanding the influence of tri guna (the three qualities of material nature)
- Seeing all living beings as spirit
- Patanjali's guidance on behaviours and practices for spiritual development
Each class is presented as a self-contained unit with it's own theme of exploration, this makes it easy for attendees to drop in to classes when they wish without loosing the thread of learning if they cannot attend every class.
Classes are friendly and informal with time for group discussion and questions.
